Yes, all our floors can withstand underfloor heating. Most of our floors are oak, which is actually one of the best wood species to choose if you want underfloor heating under your wooden floor.
A solid wood floor consists of the same wood species throughout and is virtually indestructible. It can be sanded many, many times. A solid wood floor is a natural product, which means it works. When humidity rises or falls above normal (which is 35 to 65% relative humidity, as often happens in the UK), be prepared for the boards to contract or expand. This reaction can leave small or large cracks, shrinkage cracks between the boards or create a so-called washboard effect.

Solid or two-layer oak plank flooring
There are two different ways to make this type of wood flooring. Solid plank flooring or two-layer flooring. In the past, solid flooring was the most preferred and the one most people associated with exclusive hardwood flooring.
But solid wood floors can have some challenges when laid in the way we build houses today. That’s why more and more people are opting for two-layer plank flooring instead. For example, solid floors don’t go well with underfloor heating, which is something many people today prefer. So if you want underfloor heating under your hardwood floor, choose a two-layer over a solid plank floor.

Taste and comfort
Herringbone parquet can be made in many different types of wood and the wooden planks can be of different sizes and lengths. This makes it easy to create different styles and customize your herringbone floor to your individual taste.
Once the floor is installed, it is sanded and treated with oil or wax to prolong the life of the floor and maintain its beautiful appearance.

How to avoid a squeaky floor
There’s nothing worse than hardwood floors that squeak when you walk over them. It’s annoying and a plank floor is certainly not meant to squeak, but it’s a problem that many people experience with their hardwood floors.
Fortunately, there are several things you can do to prevent your floors from squeaking after installation. Firstly, you should know that solid hardwood floors are more prone to warping and creaking than two and three-layer planks. That’s why we very rarely recommend solid wood flooring – even as plank flooring.
In addition, your subfloor and the installation of your plank floor have a huge impact on how the floor behaves when it’s finished.
Which subfloor is suitable for plank flooring?
When it comes to this type of flooring, you actually have several options with subfloors. When choosing a subfloor and installing your plank floor, you can choose a floating floor, a fully glued floor or have it laid directly on top of concrete.
The solutions have different advantages, for example, most people already have floating floors, so it can be the cheapest option. However, if you choose a fully glued plank floor, you can be sure that the floor will not give or buckle. With this type of floor, you can be sure of a floor that won’t creak.
A fully glued plank floor is also great for the acoustics in your home. Not many people know this, but the glue on this type of floor helps to give the room fantastic acoustics. Many people find this to be a huge advantage when choosing which type of subfloor and installation they want for their plank floor.
